Laughing Planet Café, is a locally owned quick-service restaurant company known and adored as much for its oober-healthy burritos and bowls, smoothies and vegetarian fare, as for its quirky décor and its appeal to kids and adults of all ages.

In April 2008, Laughing Planet Café was honored with a BEST Award (Business for an Environmentally Sustainable Tomorrow) from the City of Portland Office of Sustainable Development. The award recognized Laughing Planet’s commitment to sustainable practices as it relates to sourcing, preparing and serving food, and expanding the availability of nutritious, affordable and inventive food. In addition, Laughing Planet operates with the smallest footprint possible, using innovation and daily systems management to conserve energy, reduce waste and lower its carbon emissions.

Founded in 1995, the privately owned Laughing Planet Café operates five quick-service restaurants in Portland and Eugene, Oregon, serving truly nutritious fare in the form of creative, multi-cultural burritos, heart-healthy rice bowls, made-from-scratch soups, salsas and salads, and a decadent array of vegan desserts. Laughing Planet supports nonprofit organizations and public schools in the communities it serves, including Self Enhancement, Inc., City Repair, The Bicycle Transportation Alliance and Sustainable Business Network of Portland.
