TWO-WAY BICYCLE STREET RACING ON MISSISSIPPI!

Come watch the area's fastest bike racers at the Mississippi Avenue Criterium. The unique two-way course with quick loops is so exciting to watch. Bring your lawn chairs, grab a burrito, or settle into our beer garden and get ready for a night of hot racing action.

SCHEDULE
6:30pm Category 3/4
- 45 minutes plus 1 lap
7:30pm Category Pro/1/2/3 - 1 hour plus 1 lap * warmups are the 15 minutes before the race

GET READY TO RACE!

Racers will pass each other at 70 miles per hour with only a four-inch barricade between them in this exciting two-way racing up and down Mississippi Avenue. Prizes await the fast and fit.

LOCATION: North Mississippi Avenue, Portland, Oregon. Course runs between N. Skidmore and N. Fremont streets. Riding to the event is highly suggested. Parking is on neighborhood streets and very limited. The event is easily accessed from I-5 and I-405.

 

PRIZES:
Chris King Components, Yakima cargo boxes, organic food deliveries, gear, apparel, activities, food and drink. Tons of primes from local businesses in the neighborhood.

COURSE/DISTANCE:
An urban 8-corner criterium that is a small rise on the north end of the course, and mostly flat. Includes 2-way racing on Mississippi Avenue. Course is about 1 mile in length. Start finish area will be between Beech and Failing streets.

REGISTRATION:
Registration opens at 5pm, located at Laughing Planet Café patio area on Mississippi Avenue between Beech and Failing streets. An Oregon Bicycle Racing Association (OBRA) license is required to race and is available at registration for $5 (single-day) or $20 (annual). Please arrive at least 30 minutes before start.

RULES:
Approved helmets required. All OBRA Racing Rules apply. OBRA and the organizers of this race do not provide insurance coverage for injuries that occur at the race. The costs related to those injuries are the responsibility of the individual participant.
